Not being able to sleep, I threw my kayak and camera into the truck and headed to Hammond Bay.
It was a first for me to explore this area by kayak and at 5am it was calm and peaceful. Hammond Bay is surrounded by Neck Point Park to the North and Pipers Lagoon to the South.
There is also Shack Island, a quaint little island with colorful cabins.
My morning view at 5am. The tree silhouette is part of Pipers Lagoon.Single fishing boat anchored 40 feet from Shack Island. Looking west onto Shack Island. Water became more turbulent from this side. Shack Island. When the tide is out, you can walk to this island from Pipers Lagoon. This small aluminum boat looks copper from the morning sunrise. Bald eagle looking for his next meal. He was sitting on a small rock Island near Neck Point.
